The Sands Resort - Mauritius

Nestled on the west coast of Mauritius, The Sands Resort and Spa is the ideal hideaway for those seeking serenity, comfort and a personalised service. This Mauritian owned hotel opened in 2001 and spreads out on 7 ½ acres of lush green garden. The view across the lagoon of the bay of Tamarin and the majestic ‘Le Morne’ mountain offers grandiose scenery while the beautifully landscaped gardens provide the right backdrop to the superb Mauritian architecture.

Accommodation

The 91 deluxe rooms (52.5 m2) are all sea facing and have either a balcony or terrace. They are all equipped with individual air-conditioning, direct dialing telephone, minibar, Flat screen TV with satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities, internet access, a walk-in dressing room with iron and ironing board, electronic safe and bathroom with separate bath, shower and toilet.

The Ocean Suite (145 m2) offers the most spectacular view overlooking Tamarind Bay. It features 2 separate bedrooms and a separate living/dinning area as well as on outdoor living/dining area.

Restaurants and Bars

The hotel offers a choice of three restaurants: The Tamarind Terrace for international and local cuisine;
Spices - the fine dining restaurant proposes international cuisine with the subtle scents from the Indian Ocean. The essence of Spices cuisine is based on creativity whereby much emphasis is placed on the presentation of the dish but also on how the dish is described on the menu.
PinkPepperCorn, the beach restaurant, proposes a wide variety of grilled foods and international dishes. Nestled under the two "coqueluche trees" and next to a Pink Peppercorn tree (this is where the names comes from), this restaurant will delight you in its simplicity and provide you with the ideal backdrop to a romantic evening.

The Dolphin Bar is opened everyday and serves light snacks between 12h00 – 18h00.
Room service, Beach service and Pool service are also available.

Entertainment

Guests are entertained every night by a live band playing dance music. There is also a variety of cultural shows such as the sega, our local traditional music, Indian dance and cabaret on selected evenings.

Enjoy also your diner at the dolphin bar listening to live music every night - Starting at 8.00p.m.

Spa & fitness center

The Sandsation Spa invites you to discover a world of pampering, total relaxation and fitness. Our experienced therapists will be pleased to advise you on the various treatments and will recommend the most suitable one for you. Our guests also have free access to the sauna, hamman and fitness center.

A bird eye view of the island

Experience a breathtaking way to discover the most beautiful landscapes and unreachable areas of the island from above.

The Air Mauritius helicopter will fly you over the endless sugarcane field: the unusually carved mountain ranges, waterfalls and valleys; the white beaches, the transparent and turquoise lagoon, the coral reefs and the islets as well as the town and historical buildings.

Helicopter lifting for airport transfers and/or sightseeing can be arranged by the hotel's concierge, the heliport being a compound of the Sands Resort.
