Villa del Sol is no hotel in the usual sense, mind you. It is a magical place. Although the hotel lies right on the fine white sands of Zihuatanejo's Playa La Ropa - by many accounts one of Mexico's most beautiful beaches - if you look towards it from the ocean you will hardly know it is there. As if by a miracle, Villa del Sol disappears in the lush vegetation, and it seems that only if you squint real hard, you will see a few terracotta-tiled and thatched "palapa" roof tops peeking out of the green sea of rustling coconut palms. |

The hotel’s 35 rooms and 35 suites are located in beautiful adobe-like villas amidst luxuriant tropical gardens. No two of them are alike here some twisted tree trunks are holding up a little tile roof, there a private terrace is framed by the fringes of its palm-thatched roof. |

that let you stay in touch with the outside world, adjustable air
conditioning and ceiling fans for a cool head, big fluffy towels

bathrobes and hairdryers help you get ready for dinner in style.
Satellite television will bring the world to you – only if
you really want it – and an electronic safe will protect your

PRESIDENTIAL SUITE With a fantastic 180 degree view of the entire Zihuatanejo bay, this extremely spacious and luxurious suite has two individually designed bedrooms and two bathrooms finished with indigenous marble. A large open-air living area, intricately tiled with marble and inset natural pebbles, features an enormous wicker daybed, two comfortable seating areas, a complete wet-bar and a gorgeous private mini-pool with a panoramic view of the bay. |

LAGOON PENTHOUSE A unique and spacious one-bedroom suite perched high atop our newest section creating the most dramatic and sweeping views of Zihuatanejo Bay. The open air living-room features soaring cathedral ceilings and a private "infinity-edge' mini-pool, all facing the Pacific Ocean with its magnificent sunsets. LAGOON SUITE Our very latest additions and already some of the most popular suites, these spacious one- bedroom suites rim a small lagoon complete with its own tiny "Palm Islands". All Lagoon suites have a separate sitting area and terrace with outdoor private infinity-edge mini-pools and partial ocean view. Each suite has a telephone, satellite television, adjustable air conditioning and ceiling fan, a mini bar and an electronic safe. |

BEACH SUITE Each beach suite is individually and uniquely designed either in the warm hues of nature or vivid colors of tropics. The spacious private terrace with ocean view has an outdoor private "infinite-edge" mini-pool, comfortable double-sized chaise lounge and an extra large hammock. The oversized bathrooms are finished with indigenous marble. |

We think "La Cantina's" Mediterranean and Mexican style fare is simply fantastic. Shrimps and grilled fish are perfumed with garlic and fresh herbs. Crisp salads come dressed in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The recipe for the Andalusian gazpacho stems from a true Andalusian grandmother, and the bouillabaisse could compete with the best ones found in Marseilles. |
Our great “master of spirits” here at Villa del Sol invites you every night to taste his great margaritas, a wide array of wickedly delicious tropical drinks, the smoothest tequilas and the meanest martinis south of the border. When the sun goes down, this lovely bar becomes the perfect place to relax over a game of backgammon, share your impressions with other guests and enjoy your favorite cocktail before dinner...or the nightcap after. |
