Next
to Freddy’s Bar
is the intimate Brasserie Le Relais, an informal restaurant
that was again awarded a Bib Gourmand by Michelin in 2006.
The menu at Le Relais offers an excellent selection of
dishes and wines, varying from salads and sandwiches to
main courses and desserts, all of which are very reasonably
priced. You can also dine in Brasserie Le Relais before
or after your visit to the theatre, until 11.00 pm
Throughout the year theme weeks are organised. The Dutch stews, Greek and Mediterranean
theme weeks are popular. |

Hotel
de l’Europe’s delightful terrace is open
in the summer, weather permitting. The pleasant view of the
Amstel river adds a special touch to your lunch or dinner.
Hotel de l’Europe has its own jetties for water taxis
and canal cruise boats.
Guests can also arrive for lunch or dinner at the terrace by boat. Most boats
can be moored temporarily at the jetty, although this does depend on the size
of the boat. The terrace is heated during pleasant but chilly weather.
Catering is available from the terrace: take-away finger food and/or an excellent
bottle of wine or champagne can be collected by boat!

You
can, of course, always enjoy a cool, delicious beer at
Freddy’s Bar. In addition,
you can choose from a wide range of special aperitifs and
digestifs. Enjoy the perennially pleasant atmosphere during
your drinks and snacks.
The best hotel bar in Amsterdam!
PS of the Week, the weekend supplement of the Amsterdam
daily Het Parool, has nominated Freddy’s Bar as the best hotel bar in Amsterdam. Described as
small and dark with a traditional wooden bar with a copper railing, where jazzy
music plays in the background and heavy red velvet and brown curtains complete
the décor: that’s, according to Het Parool, how a hotel bar should
look. The article concludes with a plea to management never to change or modernize
anything at Freddy’s. Some things are better left as they are.

and tempting pastries.

afternoon of shopping in Amsterdam. Reservations for our High Tea are accepted
